Snow is forecast in Mexico for this SUNDAY. In which states will it fall?

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported the possible fall of snow in Mexico related to Cold Front 13, a mass of cold air and other phenomena that have caused a drop in temperature in several states.

The possible fall of snow or sleet is expected on the mountain peaks above 4,200 meters above sea level in the center and east of the country (Nevado de Toluca, Popocatépetl, Iztaccíhuatl, Sierra Negra, La Malinche, Cofre de Perote and Pico de Orizaba).

Forecast for this Sunday, December 3, 2023:

Minimum temperatures of -10 to -5 °C with frost for early Monday: mountains of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua and Durango.

Minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 °C with frost for early Monday morning: mountains of Coahuila and Zacatecas.

Minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 °C for early Monday morning: mountains of San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz.

Intense rains with occasional torrential rains (150 to 250 mm): Veracruz, Chiapas and Tabasco.

Very heavy rains with intense occasional events (75 to 150 mm): Oaxaca, Campeche and Yucatán.

Heavy rains with very strong spots (50 to 75 mm): Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo and Puebla.

Intervals of showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 mm): Nuevo León, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Querétaro, State of Mexico, Guerrero and Quintana Roo.

Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): Mexico City, Morelos and Tlaxcala.

Isolated rains (0.1 to 5 mm): Coahuila.

“North” event with wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h: Isthmus of Tehuantepec, with waves of 2 to 4 meters high: Veracruz and Gulf of Tehuantepec; as well as gusts of 50 to 70 km/h: Tamaulipas.

Wind gusts of 40 to 60 km/h: Gulf of California, and with possible dust devils: Baja California, Baja California Sur and Sonora.

Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Guerrero (coast), Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche and Yucatán.

Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Tabasco and Quintana Roo.
