Andrés and Gonzalo López Beltrán, sons of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, were denounced by the opposition candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, for allegedly engaging in influence peddling and related activities, in supply operations for the construction of the Maya Train, one of the major six-year projects.
Today, during her conference “Without fear of the truth,” the standard-bearer for the coalition “Strength and Heart for Mexico,” outlined the conditions of the complaint that arises from the publications made by the media outlet Latinus, headed editorially by Carlos Loret de Mola.
The complaint, filed with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, is for the purchase of ballast for the Maya Train and adds to another filed by Gálvez Ruiz in relation to the so-called “Grey House,” in which also by a report published by Latinus, although originated by the organization “Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity” created by the magnate Claudio X González, a probable conflict of interest was revealed.
Furthermore, in her report today, Xóchitl Gálvez announced that she will file another complaint to demand an independent expert opinion on the conditions of the Maya Train, as she pointed out that there are indications of structural insecurity.
So far, the opposition candidate has filed some 33 complaints for alleged cases of corruption without managing to minimally impact opinion studies that continue to place her at a wide margin of distance from the leading candidate, the officialist Claudia Sheinbaum.
The complaint filed today, in addition to being directed at Andrés and Gonzalo López Beltrán, includes their cousin, Amílcar Olán, Pedro Salazar, and the head of the Presidential Assistance, Daniel Assaf, a supposed group that Latinus often identifies as “The Clan.”
