The year 2024 is full of surprises for the automotive industry in Mexico. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the chip shortage, and the new environmental regulations, several brands have confirmed the arrival of new models to our market. In this article we will review the most important launches of cars in Mexico 2024, as well as the approximate dates of their arrival.

Audi Q5

In 2024 we will see the new generation of the Q5, one of Audi’s most successful SUVs. It has not yet been presented, but its global debut is expected in the course of 2024. As it is manufactured in Mexico, it is highly likely that we will be one of the first countries to receive it. It should happen before the end of the year.

BMW X2 / iX2

The X2 is renewed from end to end, and comes to Mexico for the first time with an electric version. It should arrive during the first months of the year, with a range that should go from 170 hp for the entry-level gasoline versions, to 313 hp for the electric variant.

BMW x3

Although BMW has not confirmed it, everything indicates that the new generation of the X3 will debut in 2024. Its international debut could take place during the summer, and since BMW does not usually delay in launching its new models in Mexico, we could see it on our streets before the end of the year.

BMW m5

The only missing link in the new 5 Series range is its highest-performance variant. The next M5 should be launched internationally in the middle of the year, so it would arrive in Mexico during the last quarter of 2024, with a proposal above the 625 hp that the current model already offers.

Buick Envision

Buick’s compact SUV is preparing an update for Mexico, with a face very similar to that of the brand’s latest launches, such as Envista and Encore. No changes are expected in mechanics, but an improvement in equipment is expected. Everything indicates that it will arrive during the first quarter of the year.

BYD Seagull

BYD doesn’t stop. After having launched six models in 2023, the Chinese firm is preparing one of its most interesting models for Mexico: a small 3.78-meter-long electric hatchback, the key to which will be the price, which is expected to be around 420,000 pesos. It could arrive with a 74 or 100 hp motor and a battery of between 30 and 38 kWh, for a range of around 400 km.

Cadillac Escalade iQ

The most advanced thing that exists today from General Motors is this colossal SUV, which brings the Escalade name to the electric world. It has a motor on each axle for a total of 750 hp, and thanks to a huge 200 kWh battery, it can travel up to 720 km per charge. It should reach our streets in the final stretch of 2024.

Cadillac XT4

The smallest of Cadillac’s SUVs receives a discreet design update and a major technological renewal. From now on it can carry the set of Lyriq 33″ screens. There are no changes to the engine. It retains the 235 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine with nine-speed gearbox and front-wheel drive.

Changan Hunter

The Chinese firm wants to take a slice of the juicy pick-up pie in Mexico. It enters the same category as NP300 Frontier, Hilux and company, and does so with a 214 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine and connectable all-wheel drive. The brand speaks of a load capacity of up to 1.1 tons.

Chevrolet Blazer EV

Made in Mexico, and soon also on our streets. Chevrolet prepares the arrival of the Blazer EV for the first half of the year. No specifications have been released, but we could expect from entry-level versions with 228 hp to the high-performance SS variant, with 557 hp.

Chevrolet Equinox EV

The younger brother of the Blazer EV is this compact SUV with power between 210 and 290 hp, depending on the version, and a battery that promises performance of up to 482 km per charge. It will reach our market during the second half of 2024.

Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe

General Motors’ iconic SUVs will welcome the year with a subtle redesign and a major interior upgrade. The cabin optimizes the feeling of quality and debuts an infotainment system with a 17.7″ screen, as well as a new 11″ instrument panel. They will retain their well-known V8 engines of up to 420 hp.

Chevrolet Traverse

The Traverse has sought its place among Highlander and company for years, and its latest move is to adopt styling in the image and likeness of Suburban. Thus, the new Traverse receives a more robust face, a completely renewed cabin and a new engine. The V6 says goodbye in favor of a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 315 hp and 317 lb-ft.

Chirey Arrizo 8

Chirey still believes in a category from which almost everyone has defected: midsize sedans. The Arrizo 8 will arrive this January as an alternative to the Camry and Altima, and it does so with a 196 hp 1.6-liter turbo engine. Not all the equipment details have been released, but its starting price has been: from 569,900 pesos.

Chirey Tiggo 7 Pro Max

Taking advantage of the arrival of a facelift for Chirey Tiggo 7 Pro, the Chinese firm is preparing the introduction of a more powerful engine. Specs are to be confirmed, but we can expect something around 190 hp.

Chirey Tiggo 7 Pro e+

In addition to the facelift and the more powerful engine, the Tiggo 7 range in Mexico will expand with a plug-in hybrid version, which is set to become one of the most accessible PHEVs in the world market. It combines a 1.5-liter turbo engine with two electric motors, for a total of 315 hp and an electric range of around 75 km.

Chirey Tiggo 9

Chirey’s SUV range will expand with the arrival of the Tiggo 9, its largest model to date. There are no confirmed specifications, but everything indicates that it will be launched with three rows of seats and a 2.0-liter turbo engine, with power around 250 hp.

Chirey eQ7

Chirey does not want to be left out of the game in the world of electric cars, and is already preparing a couple of launches for Mexico. One of them is the eQ7, a 4.6 meter long SUV with a 210 hp engine and electric range of around 510 km.

Chirey eQ1

At Chirey they know that the electric vehicle market in Mexico needs more accessible options, and that is why they will launch an urban vehicle to compete with BYD Seagull, JAC E10X and Renault Kwid. The eQ1 is 3.2 meters long, and has engines from 40 to 73 hp, depending on the version. Depending on the battery selected, its range can range from 250 to 400 km.

CUPRA Terramar

Planned as the successor to the CUPRA Ateca, the Terramar will be launched in Europe in the middle of the year, so we could have it in Mexico towards the final stretch of 2024. Although the specifications have not yet been released, there is talk of a range composed exclusively for plug-in hybrid versions.

DFSK 500

Under the Motornation portfolio, a new Chinese brand is preparing its arrival in Mexico, and it comes with four models. The first is the 500, a small 4.38 meter long SUV with a 114 hp 1.5 liter engine to compete with MG ZS, KIA Seltos and company. It has a 7″ screen, stability control and two airbags.

DFSK 600

DFSK will also have a compact SUV from the likes of X-Trail and Tiguan. The 600 uses a 181 hp and 221 lb-ft 1.5-liter turbo engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. It has capacity for seven passengers, a 12.3″ screen, advanced driving assistance and four airbags.

DFSK E5

This is the plug-in hybrid version of the 600. The E5 combines a 109 hp 1.5-liter engine with electric propulsion, for a total of 221 hp. It promises an electric range of 87 km.

DFSK EC35

The Chinese firm also enters the category of commercial vehicles with this van that is 4.5 meters long and has 5.3 cubic meters of cargo. It has an 80 hp engine and an electric range of 268 km.

Exeed LX

The universe of brands derived from Chirey will become larger with the launch of Exeed, which is proposed as the most luxurious of the group. The names of its models for Mexico are yet to be confirmed, but the LX will compete with models such as Mazda CX-5 and Hyundai Tucson.

Exeed RX

The Chinese firm is also preparing the arrival of the RX – name to be confirmed. It measures 4.7 meters long and uses a 260 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine. It is one of the most recent models that the brand has launched globally.

Exeed VX

To compete in the three-row SUV universe, the Exeed VX comes to Mexico as an alternative to Toyota Highlander, Volkswagen Teramont and company. It will bet heavily on luxury and will have a 250 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine.

Exeed Exlantix E03

There will also be electric cars from Exeed, and they will aim high in terms of power and autonomy. The E03 is a sedan with up to 470 hp and whose battery can reach up to 905 km per charge, depending on the version selected.

Exeed Exlantix E0Y

This is the SUV version of the E03, with which it shares the 800-volt electric platform that, under the appropriate charger, will be able to recover 150 km of autonomy in 5 minutes. It will also share motors and batteries, which in its most capable configuration – 100 kWh – will be able to travel around 700 km per charge.

GAC Emkoo

At 4.68 meters long and with a design that is out of the ordinary, the Emkoo will seek its place in the compact SUV category with a 177 hp turbo engine. There is also talk of the possibility of a 185 hp hybrid version.

GAC Empow

Many Western brands have abandoned the midsize sedan category, but Chinese firms are reviving it with the introduction of new models. GAC prepares the Empow, a 4.7-meter-long sedan with a 175 hp 1.5-liter turbo engine.

GAC GN6

At the time of its launch, GAC assured that it would launch a minivan in Mexico, without specifying which one. Our prediction is that it is the GN6, a 4.7 meter long minivan with three rows of seats, powered by a 168 hp 1.5 liter turbo engine.

GAC Aion LX

GAC also mentioned that in 2024 it would launch an electric SUV. They did not confirm the model, but from their range (composed of Aion LX, Aion V and Aion V), we believe that the chosen one will be the Aion LX Plus, whose cover letters are very interesting. It can carry a battery of up to 144 kWh, one of the largest on the market, to achieve a range of over 1,000 km.

GMC Acadia

The renewal in the General Motors SUV range also comes to Acadia. Your face adapts to the latest launches of the brand, and the interior receives more technology, now with the possibility of carrying a new vertical screen. Throughout, the dimensions also grow to improve the space.

GMC Hummer EV

We could be looking at one of the most anticipated models of the year, not because it is a best-seller, but because of the spectacular nature of its proposal. The GMC Hummer EV will be a colossal electric SUV with a high dose of power and exclusive off-road programs, including one with a diagonal driving mode. The famous Crab Walk.

Great Wall Power

Great Wall will also bet on the pick-up market. With its Poer sub-brand, the brand is preparing a pick-up to compete with Chevrolet S10, Nissan NP300 and Toyota Hilux. No specifications have been confirmed, although in some markets it is offered with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine and engageable all-wheel drive.

Haval H6 GT

Great Wall Motors is preparing several launches, and one of them may be the H6 GT, which becomes the coupe version of the H6 with a sportier character and a 201 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Ioniq subbrand has been a success globally, and Hyundai will finally dare to launch it in Mexico this year. Although there is a possibility that the first model will be the Ioniq 6, we are almost certain that the sub-brand will debut in Mexico with the Ioniq 5, a hatchback/SUV with up to 320 hp and 418 km of autonomy.

Hyundai Santa Fe

The new generation of Santa Fe will arrive in Mexico with a total transformation, more off-road flavor and a more luxurious interior. The premiere of its hybrid version is confirmed, which combines a 1.6-liter turbo engine with electric propulsion, for a total of 232 hp. It will compete with CX-90, Highlander and company.

JAC Frison T9

During the first months of the year, JAC will launch its most advanced pick-up to date. The T9 will hit our streets with a 221 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine, with the option of rear-wheel drive or connectable all-wheel drive.

Jaecoo 7

Derived from Chirey and Omoda, Jaecoo was presented worldwide in April of last year, and is preparing its launch in Mexico for the first quarter of the year. Its first model, the Jaecoo 7, will be a compact SUV that could arrive with 1.5 or 1.6 liter turbo engines to compete with MG HS and Volkswagen Taos.

Jaecoo 8

Later in the year, the Jaecoo 8 will also arrive, a 4.8-meter-long medium SUV that will stand up to the KIA Sorento. It will have three rows of seats and a 2.0-liter turbo engine with power of around 250 hp.

KIA K3 Hatchback

During the launch of the sedan version, KIA confirmed the arrival of the K3 for January. In a matter of weeks we will know the details, but we can expect 1.6 and 2.0 liter engines, to compete with the SEAT Ibiza, Suzuki Swift and Mazda2.

Mazda BT-50

The pickup category is very important in Mexico, and Mazda knows it. Thanks to its global alliance with Isuzu, the BT-50 will reach our streets to compete with NP300, Hilux and company. There’s no arrival date or specs yet, but it could launch with a 190-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine.

Mazda CX-90 PHEV

The plug-in hybrid version of the CX-90 should be on our streets during the summer. It combines a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with electric propulsion, for a total of 323 hp. It can travel 41 km in fully electric mode.

Mazda CX-70

This is the two-row version of the CX-90. It will be presented globally at the end of January, so it should reach our streets during the second half of the year, with a range of engines shared with the CX-90.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe

The GLC is one of Mercedes-Benz’s most successful SUVs in Mexico, and its coupe version has been very well received. Its new generation should reach our streets during the first months of the year, with a range of engines and equipment shared with the traditional body version.

MG 3

MG will give a lot to talk about this year. Its range of models will grow significantly, and one of its pillars will be the MG 3, a hatchback that will become its most accessible model and will compete with March, Aveo and company.

MG 4

In the field of electric vehicles, MG is also preparing new developments. The MG 4 will come to our country as an alternative to the Chevrolet Bolt. No specifications have been confirmed, but the power could range from 170 to 245 hp, and its autonomy would be around 350 to 420 km, depending on the battery selected.

MG 7

The Chinese firm will also enter the mid-size sedan game. The MG 7 offers a fastback-style body, a good technological load and a 257 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission, developed by ZF.

MG Maxus T90

MG will enter the juicy pick-up market with the Maxus T90. The brand confirmed its arrival during a presentation in October last year, and the image shown hinted at the possibility of seeing its version on
