A foreigner complains about the chaos in Mexico City and her reaction goes viral.

Foreign influencer Vivi Voyage finds herself embroiled in a new controversy after mentioning in one of her videos that she doesn’t like the chaos of Mexico City, sparking hundreds of criticisms on the platform.

The TikTok profile of @vivivoyage, a young French woman who shares her experience living in Mexico on social media, continually becomes embroiled in controversy due to her constant criticism of Mexicans and their customs.

Vivi went viral on the social media after mentioning that she found Mexican men attractive and saying that she loved Mexico. Now, after a few years living in Mexico City, the foreigner criticized some of the city’s shortcomings.

While walking down the street, the influencer took a few minutes to reflect on the current atmosphere she perceives living in Mexico City: “I used to consider myself a chilanga, but I don’t think so anymore, because it’s always very dangerous to walk around (…) it’s a chaotic city, so a car can run over you any time and many things can happen to you,” she said.

She then mentioned that people risk their lives crossing the street without paying attention to traffic lights because they’re always in a hurry, and that causes them to push other people.

“Honestly, I don’t know why I liked living here a few years ago. I don’t know what happened, if something changed or if I changed a lot,” the TikToker mentioned.

On the other hand, the reaction of internet users was evident in the comments: “Well, look, there’s always the option of returning to Paris, Marseille, Nantes, or Montpellier. There, it’s almost not chaotic and it’s almost not dangerous.” “Well, that’s how they live in Paris, very similar, haha.” “Coming from a first-world country, it’s normal for me to see it that way.” “Yes, it’s chaotic, but it’s part of our daily lives.” “People are in a hurry because most of them come from far away. Jobs are far from where they live because the nearby homes are occupied by gentrifying people like you.”
