Mexico Tech Week promotes Mexico City as a global technology hub

For one week, Mexico City will become the most important meeting point for technological innovation in Latin America.

From October 20th to 26th, more than 15,000 attendees and 300 events will transform the capital into the centerpiece of Mexico Tech Week 2025 (MTW), an event that seeks to consolidate Mexico as a key player in the creation, development, and dissemination of technology.

Unlike traditional conferences, Mexico Tech Week is a decentralized, community-based event. Cafés, coworking spaces, parks, and corporate offices will host talks, workshops, and meetings that will connect startups, investors, students, and large companies.

“It’s basically a giant technology festival where everyone can participate, regardless of whether you already work in the ecosystem or are just interested in exploring it,” said Roxana Antohi, Head of Operations at MTW, in an interview with Tech Bit.

With the support of companies such as Google, Amazon Web Services, Meta, and IBM, the third edition of the event not only seeks to attract the biggest names in the sector, but also to open the doors of innovation to everyone. “We want to democratize access to technology so that everyone can learn, create, and connect,” Antohi emphasized.

Tech House, AI, and Formula 1 arrive at the most innovative week
One of the major new features of this edition will be the Tech House, a space that will serve as the heart of the event. Designed as a meeting and coworking space, it will have the support of WeWork and Notion and will host some of the most prominent panels.

“We wanted to give the event a physical heart. In New York, I saw that people were running from place to place, so the Tech House will offer a space to relax, connect, and listen to the best speakers,” Antohi explained.

The event will also focus on artificial intelligence, with the AI Fest and one of the most anticipated activities: the world’s largest mass AI class, organized in collaboration with the Mexico City government and companies such as OpenAI, Nvidia, and Platzi. According to Antohi, the goal is to “democratize access to artificial intelligence so that anyone, even those with no prior experience, can learn about its use and potential.”

Additionally, Mexico Tech Week will coincide with Formula 1 Grand Prix Week, integrating sports and technological experiences. There will be simulators, events from sponsoring brands such as Binance and Oracle, and activities that connect innovation with entertainment. “It’s a very Mexican way of fusing technology with the energy and creativity of the city,” she added.

For Roxana Antohi, Mexico City plays a decisive role in consolidating Mexico as a technological powerhouse. “The city offers unique spaces, talent, and energy. Here, entrepreneurs, corporate figures, and creatives converge in a single ecosystem,” she stated.

The expectation is that this edition will surpass the results of 2024—when 200 events were held—and reach an international attendance of nearly 30%. Furthermore, the organization is already planning to expand to other regions of the country, with initiatives such as Monterrey Tech Week and Jalisco Tech Week, which seek to bring innovation beyond the capital.

“Mexico is becoming a very important technology hub. We want people, both inside and outside the country, to see what we are creating here,” concluded Antohi.
