Night picnic in CDMX: where it will be and everything you need to know to celebrate Valentine’s Day

The Secretariat of the Environment (Sedema) of Mexico City (CDMX) invited everyone to participate in the Night Picnic, which will take place on February 14 at Chapultepec Park.

The event is free to attend and will feature lighting and ambient music to liven up the evening.

It will take place in the Botanical Garden of the First Section of Chapultepec Park, on Friday, February 14, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As part of the celebration, the agency suggested bringing a basket, tablecloth, food and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy a family night experience.

It also recommended bringing battery-operated candles to set the mood for the picnic; wearing warm clothing, since temperatures can drop at night; and reminded everyone that pets are not allowed, as well as smoking or carrying cigarettes.

To reduce the environmental impact, attendees were urged to avoid the use of single-use plastics and Styrofoam, instead suggesting to bring reusable and washable containers, as well as to carry water in cylinders or thermoses instead of disposable bottles.

In addition, do not use glitter, balloons, streamers, confetti, paint or foam, as they contaminate the soil, water and air. It is also not allowed to make bonfires or start fires, as well as nailing, tying or hanging objects on trees.
