The heart of Polanco is welcoming a new gastronomic space that, in addition to surprising with its Mediterranean cuisine and signature cocktails, stands out for its art-filled design. We are talking about Amaral, the new restaurant at the Presidente InterContinental Mexico City hotel.
This Mediterranean restaurant pays tribute to the cuisine that integrates recipes and ingredients from cultures such as Greek, Italian, Jordanian, Maghrebi, Ottoman, and Spanish, although it has a distinctly Iberian accent and essence. The creator of this culinary concept, Chef Martha Brockmann, not only infused her passion into each dish but also into the design, the selection of tableware, and the artworks that adorn its walls.
Amaral, a Mediterranean-Inspired Restaurant
The culinary proposal of Amaral stands out for the freshness of its ingredients and the use of traditional techniques that, with a modern approach, bring to life amazing Mediterranean dishes with a special Spanish touch. The menu of this restaurant shines with a selection of tapas, fresh fish, and rice dishes, as well as high-quality meat cuts, not to mention Mediterranean pastas.
Among its specialties, the Amaral foie gras stands out for its subtlety and smoothness, highlighted by the ginger and spice crumble that accompanies it, as well as the linguine a la Nerano with its citrus notes that contrast incredibly with the roasted pumpkin slices; other must-tries are the Iberian ham croquettes, with a perfect texture, and the Amaral filet, marinated for 48 hours and served with soufflé potatoes and arugula salad.
Of course, it’s also worth making room to try the red snapper crudo, duck tacos, lobster salad, and Costa Brava salmon. The sweet side of the menu is another explosion of flavors and textures. Don’t miss the Amaral mille-feuille and the fine apple tart, two of the menu’s stars, ideal for closing the experience with the flavors of the Mediterranean basin.
