Here’s a little good news for Delta flyers amidst chaos: Aeromexico is launching a new non-stop flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (MEX) in Mexico City. As part of the codeshare agreement with Delta, the daily service will begin on October 27.

The flight will depart from Newark at 7:05 am and arrive in Mexico City at 11:30 am. The return journey will take off from Mexico City at 3:45 pm and land back in Newark at 9:30 pm. Aeromexico’s Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, which can accommodate 166 passengers, offers high-speed WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, and fast charging plugs.

Currently, United is the only airline operating non-stop flights from Newark to Mexico City. However, with Aeromexico’s new route, SkyTeam flyers will now have an alternative airport option. This marks Aeromexico’s 24th destination in the US, following recent route launches to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Tampa International Airport (TPA).

In total, Aeromexico’s new Newark flight increases SkyTeam connectivity between the New York metropolitan area and Mexico City to five daily flights. The Delta-Aeromexico alliance serves 60 routes between the US and Mexico with over 200 flights carrying more than 200,000 passengers weekly.
