A 14-year-old girl from Utah named Elizabeth Gonzalez and her two cousins, Sofia Mailen Moreno Zamora (6) and Regina Moreno Zamora (4), have been found safe in Veracruz, Mexico, after disappearing on June 30.
The FBI had identified Elizabeth’s uncle, Antonio Moreno, as a suspect in their disappearance.
According to the agency, Moreno took the girls without their mothers’ permission and was captured along with them.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows Elizabeth and her cousins getting into a taxi with Moreno, who is believed to have manipulated Elizabeth into doing so.
The FBI has issued a federal arrest warrant for Moreno on charges related to Elizabeth’s disappearance, including kidnapping. The U.S. will seek the extradition of Moreno, who had been living in Kaysville, Utah, before traveling to Mexico and taking the girls.
An Amber Alert was activated for the three girls on July 1.
