Aeromexico has launched three new routes to the US, increasing connectivity between Mexico City and North Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Washington D.C. As part of its Joint Cooperation Agreement with Delta Air Lines, the airline now offers over 90 flights per day between Mexico and the US. The new routes will operate daily using Boeing 737 and Embraer E-190 aircraft.
The first route links Mexico City International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport, a previously served route that has been reinstated. Aeromexico faces competition from United Airlines on this route.
Mexico City (MEX) to Washington, D.C. (IAD):
Departure: 08:25 from MEX
Arrival: 15:06 at IAD
Return flight: Departs IAD at 17:00, arrives back in Mexico at 19:45
Aircraft: Boeing 737
Direct competition: United Airlines (daily Airbus A320 flight)
The second new destination is Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina, which becomes the airport’s 10th international destination. The daily Embraer E-190 flights will cater to business travelers and those visiting universities in the area.

The third new route connects Mexico City to Tampa International Airport in Florida, a previously announced service that has finally taken off. This route is operated by an Embraer E-190 and is timed similarly to Aeromexico’s other new services.
Departure: 09:55 from MEX
Arrival: 15:15 at TPA
Return flight: Departs TPA at 16:36, lands in MEX at 18:15
Passengers on the first flights were greeted with welcome messages, commemorative gifts, and even Mariachi performances at the Tampa airport. The launches are part of Aeromexico’s efforts to increase connectivity between Mexico City and the US, as well as its joint venture with Delta Air Lines. With these new routes, Aeromexico now offers a total of 90 flights per day between Mexico and the US across nearly 60 routes, making it easier for travelers to connect between the two countries.
