The National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecasts strong winds, extreme heat, the potential formation of tornadoes, and heavy rain and showers for Mexico this Wednesday.
Additionally, the SMN reports that hot and extremely hot weather will continue in much of the country, with 26 states experiencing temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
Although the third heatwave ends on Wednesday, the country will still experience hot weather, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, reaching 45 degrees Celsius in some cases, and ranging from 20 to 35 degrees Celsius in others.
Maximum temperatures for today, June 5th:
– Maximum temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius in Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz, Tabasco, and Campeche.
– Maximum temperatures between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius in Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Guanajuato, northern Querétaro, northern Hidalgo, northern and southwestern Puebla, Morelos, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
– Maximum temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius in Baja California Sur, Zacatecas, and southwestern State of Mexico.
– Maximum temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius in Aguascalientes and Mexico City.
An extremely hot environment is expected, with maximum temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in 26 states across the country.
In its first report of the day, the National Meteorological Service explained that due to a dry line, a low-pressure channel, and the subtropical jet stream, there will be showers, wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour, and the formation of tornadoes.
On the other hand, the SMN reported that a low-pressure channel located in southeastern Mexico will interact with tropical wave number two, which will be positioned over the Yucatán Peninsula. As a result, with moisture from the Caribbean Sea, there will be intermittent showers in those regions, with heavy rainfall in Chiapas.

– Isolated rain in Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Morelos, Guerrero, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, and Yucatán.
