“In the first bimester of 2024, the Cancun International Airport recorded the highest entry and exit of foreign travelers, with a total of nearly two million.
Cancun accounted for 45% of all international tourists in Mexico during the first bimester of 2024.
In total, the Cancun International Airport received 1.98 million international tourists, according to figures from the Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur). This passenger level represented a growth of 7.4% compared to the same period in the previous year.
With these numbers, Cancun’s airport positioned itself as the one with the highest movement of foreign tourists at the beginning of the year.
The Mexico City International Airport (AICM) ranked second with 723,712 passengers received. Meanwhile, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport registered a flow of 469,055 international travelers.
Additionally, Cancun is the preferred destination where international tourists spend the most.”
