AMLO: My son Gonzalo is incapable of committing an act of corruption… and Loret de Mola personifies it

“They try to tarnish us, but there is no reason, no elements, no proof,” declared López Obrador.

When it was pointed out that Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity revealed a new audio in which Amílcar Olán says that supposedly Gonzalo “Bobby” López Beltrán offered to exploit some mines in Oaxaca for the ballast business, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador defended his son and lashed out at journalist Carlos Loret de Mola.

At his morning press conference this Thursday, April 4th, at the National Palace, López Obrador assured that his son “has absolutely nothing to do with that, nothing, nothing at all, nothing.”

“They try to tarnish us, but there is no reason, no elements, no proof. If those are proofs, what they have to do is present them, with a complaint, to the public prosecutor’s office, to be investigated.

“But there is absolutely nothing, nothing at all. Is it Gonzalo? Gonzalo is, not to boast, but it’s as if we compared decent people with Loret de Mola, it’s the complete opposite.

“In other words, Gonzalo is incapable of committing an act of corruption, and Loret de Mola embodies corruption,” he said.

He pointed out that in case there is proof, he asked to present the complaints to the Prosecutor’s Office, as presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez did.

“Absolutely nothing is going to happen,” he indicated.
