Toluca and CDMX will finally be connected by train starting from August this year The mega project of the Insurgent Train that will connect Toluca and CDMX seems to be nearing its end. This project, which has been under construction for a decade, seems to have taken shape and is expected to be fully operational this same year. This was reported by the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Here we share all the details with you.

Currently, there are four stations of the Insurgent Train that are already in operation, which are Zinancantepec, Toluca Centro, Metepec and Lerma. The section that will run from Toluca to CDMX seems to have an opening date. The AMLO government announced it through its social networks where it assures that the missing section will be opened from August this year.

The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport shared that they are already testing electrical parameters to mount a pilot train, where the Santa Fe station will be located.

Once the last section of the train is completed, users will be able to go from Observatorio to Toluca in an estimated time of 45 minutes.

These announcements are made after the Insurgent Train has had a series of accidents involving technical staff and part of the structures that make up the work.
