From former officials to businessmen: they are the 13 linked to the Real Estate Cartel in CD Mx

The people linked to the corruption network are accused of illegal use of powers committed by a public servant, criminal association, and extortion.

So far, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ of CdMx) has accused 13 people –including former officials, businessmen, managers, and family members belonging to the network of corruption in the real estate sector in the Benito Juarez mayor’s office.

Since July of last year, the capital institution has announced the arrests of nine involved, including the former mayor in that demarcation, Christian Von Roehrich de la Isla, the former highest-ranking official captured in this case.

Meanwhile, the remaining four have arrest warrants in force for various crimes related to this corruption network, and some of them even have a red Interpol file and immigration alert. The Investigative Police of Mexico City has intensified its search in recent weeks.

The ministerial authorities consulted by MILENIO indicated that the list of 13 people could increase, as the investigations of this case progress.

In addition, they recalled that there are people indicated in the investigation folder, such as the current mayor in Benito Juárez, Santiago Taboada, or federal deputy Jorge Romero Herrera, but who have not been investigated or charged, so far.

In this way, there are currently nine people linked to the process for their relationship with this real estate corruption network. In addition to Von Roehrich de la Isla, the list of defendants is made up of Luis Vizcaíno, former legal and government director, Nicias René Aridjis Vázquez, former general director of Works, and Adelaida García González, former director of Works, Development and Urban Services.

In addition, Ismael ‘N’, who served as internal comptroller, advisor to the delegation headquarters, director of Material Resources and Urban Services and general director of Administration, as well as former officials are José Ramón ‘N’ and Alejandro ‘N’.

Sofía Von Roehrich de la Isla, sister of the former mayor, is facing criminal proceedings under the precautionary measure of home preventive detention. Businessman Roberto ‘N’ – whose arrest was announced by the capital’s prosecutor’s office on the same day as that of Christian Von Roehrich.

The four people who are wanted for being related to the real estate corruption network are; Víctor Manuel Mendoza Acevedo, former Director General of Planning, Development and Participation, and Emilio Sordo Zabay, former Director of Urban Development.

The Investigative Police of Mexico City is also carrying out search and location work for César ‘N’, a former official who was attached to the General Directorate of Planning, Development and Participation, as well as Elvia ‘N’, who without being an official, served as a link and manager for César ‘N’.
