The Taste Atlas guide placed Mexican preparation at number 20 and national cuisine at sixth place.

Carnitas, one of the typical Mexican dishes, is on the list of the 100 best in the world this year.

The Taste Atlas travel guide ranked the Mexican culinary creation at number 20, behind pasta and ahead of noodles, at positions 19 and 21 respectively.

According to the official Taste Atlas site, carnitas have 4.67 stars and it is in the United States and Mexico where you can find the 14 best places to eat them.

The first site is occupied by Los Panchos, located in Mexico City; in second, Rincón Tarasco; and the third, El Kioskito, both in the capital.

Also mentioned on the list is Carnitas Teresita, located in Playa del Carmen; Carnitas Los Michoacanos, in Cabo San Lucas; Carnitas Don Pedro, in Chicago; and Hugo’s, in Houston.

The dish to which Taste Atlas gave first place on its list of the 100 best of 2022 was Karé, a typical preparation from Japan. It is a curry that began to gain popularity in the country during the Meiji period, from 1868 to 1912 when the British introduced it to the country.

During its first 10 years, the Karé with rice was a gourmet dish reserved only for people of high income.

The guide also published a list of The Best Cuisines in the World, placing Mexico at number 6. The first three places were occupied by Italy, Greece, and Spain.
