The Marcelo Torreblanca Dance Festival seeks to recover public space with the interpretation of traditional dances and schools, whose disciplinary line focuses on this theme.

October 12 is the date that the teacher Marcelo Torreblanca, one of the great national dancers, instituted as the Day of traditional Mexican dance; Within the framework of this anniversary, the National School of Folkloric Dance (ENDF) will carry out the XLIV broadcast of the festival that bears his name.

As part of the #VolverAVerte strategy of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal), the Marcelo Torreblanca Dance Festival seeks to recover public space with the interpretation of traditional and school dances, whose disciplinary line focuses on this theme.

The ENDF invites the general public to join the celebration on October 12 at 10:00 a.m., in the Plaza Ángel Salas of the Centro Cultural del Bosque, behind the National Auditorium, in Chapultepec-Polanco.

The EBAC, the EBAT), the National School of Dance Nellie and Gloria Campobello (ENDNyGC) and the National School of Folkloric Dance (ENDF) will participate.

The program is made up of: Dance of the Muleteers of Capulhuac de Mirafuentes (EBAC), Dance of the blacks of El chacal de Tenampulco, Puebla (EBAT), Dance of Matlachines Tenamaxtli, of Aguascalientes (ENDF), Squads of the Carnival of San Agustín Atlapulco, Chimalhuacán (ENDF), Dance of Quetzales from the neighborhood of Tacopan, Atempan, Puebla (ENDF), Dance of Matlachines El Visitador, from García de la Cadena, Zacatecas (ENDF), Dance of the Feather from Zimatlán de Álvarez, Oaxaca (ENDNyGC) and as guest dance: Jolos de Progreso, from Piaxtla, Puebla .
