Mexico City heads the list of states with the highest unemployment rate: 6.60% of the Economically Active Population (PEA) is looking for work without getting it, almost double the national unemployment rate that stood at 3.74% in February 2020.
The Mexican capital and its metropolitan area is where the highest unemployment was registered in February 2022.
According to figures from the ENOE (National Occupation and Employment Survey), in Mexico City and the State of Mexico the unemployment rates are 6.60 and 6.01% respectively.
The top 5 states with the highest unemployment are Tabasco, Nuevo León, and Coahuila.
