Rescue of dogs trapped in landslide continues in Xochimilco animal shelter

After the emergency call to 911, personnel from the Directorate of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection moved to the Milagros Caninos AC shelter located in Santa Cecilia Tepetlapa, Xochimilco, where a landslide trapped the dogs were they slept.

Despite the night and the rain, elements of Civil Protection, the Heroic Fire Department, and various rescuers continued working in search of more dogs alive after being buried by the landslide of a hill.

The Xochimilco mayor’s office reported at 9:35 p.m. on its social networks that several elements of civil protection, firefighters and rescuers are still in the place trying to remove the debris.

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection had announced, four hours earlier, that the rescue should be suspended due to the persistence of rains and the risk that existed in the landslide area. 

She also reported the discovery of another lifeless puppy. 

Fortunately, the search resumed and thousands of netizens have joined on social networks to support the Milagros Caninos shelter with donations and whatever else is needed.
