Effective March 19, the U.S. Embassy and all Consulates General in Mexico have resumed limited appointments for routine passport, citizenship, and notarial services. Limited routine services are also available at some Consular Agencies. Please see our website for the most up to date information on service availability at each location. Appointment availability will be strictly limited due to physical distancing requirements in our offices and public waiting rooms. All visitors to the embassy and consulates age two and older must wear a mask.
In some locations, qualified applicants may be able to utilize a drop-off program for adult passport renewals without appointment. Please see our website for more information on locations, hours, and qualifications to participate in these programs.
Appointments for passport and citizenship applications that require a personal interview and for notarial services are available in a limited number on our website, but high demand means that openings are filled quickly. Due to the limited number available, there may be no openings visible on the website at any given time. If no appointments are available when you first check the online calendar, please keep checking the calendar for newly released appointments and daily cancellations. All appointments and openings are subject to change and cancellation based on local health conditions.
If you cannot find an open appointment and have urgent travel plans (within the next two weeks) or another emergency need for a passport, please contact the location nearest you by email to request an emergency passport appointment. You may contact +52 55-8526-2561 for other emergency assistance, but please note that the operators at this number cannot schedule routine or emergency appointments.
