Originally from Irapuato, Guanajuato, Felipe Tomé began his career in 2003 with his company Citi Capital that built Plaza Galerías located in Rafael Sanzio and Vallarta and which is one of the most visited shopping complexes in the city.

Later, the company ventured into the development of luxury apartment towers. The first project of this type was Cima Real, in the Valle Real area where they later added Cima Park.

The State Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the missing persons area opened an investigation folder for the attack where real estate businessman José Felipe Tomé Velázquez was deprived of his liberty, early this Sunday in Puerto Vallarta. The prosecutor Gerardo Octavio Solís Gómez, reported that it was a direct attack on the suv in which the businessman was traveling, he ruled out that it was a kidnapping to ask for a ransom.

He explained that the event could be linked to real estate developments promoted by the victim, which are facing legal proceedings. He explained that they had knowledge that the affected party had disputes in Querétaro, Guerrero and Quintana Roo; Therefore, they will request support from the authorities of those Entities. They will also require the collaboration of Nayarit authorities since it is considered that the vehicle in which the businessman was transferred traveled to Nuevo Vallarta.

The prosecutor commented that another line of investigation is the dispute over land in the Puerto Vallarta marina.

“There is a disputed area in the city of Puerto Vallarta that could form part of the theories of the case, as well as those that are going to seek the collaboration of other States; to see from which side the fact that they have attempted against him could have come out, “he said.

He explained that they investigated the rumors, that the businessman had been released and that he was seen at the airport of the tourist center, said that agency personnel went to the air terminal and found no information that the affected person had boarded a commercial or private flight.    

Solís Gómez added that an investigation folder was also opened for the murder of one of the businessman’s companions. At the scene of the attack, 103 casings of high-caliber weapons were raised.
