Although Mexico still does not appear dated, it is considered within Liberty Media’s plans

The F1 has plans for a calendar of 2021 with 23 races in almost everyone, which is including the Grand Prix of Mexico, but also with the addition of Saudi Arabia as the new headquarters.

The Motorsport.com portal presented a preview of what will be next season, and although Mexico has not yet appeared with a date, it is considered within Liberty Media’s plans.

Federico González Compeán, director of the Mexican Grand Prix, told MILENIO-LA AFICIÓN that although there is no specific date, the race will be held at the end of October.

“What we are talking about is having the same date, ” said Federico González Compeán in an interview.

“It is the tentative calendar, it has to be corroborated. Everything indicates that we are one year away from the 2021 race. Our virtual GP is our launch one year into the event ”.

The number of 23 competitions is the highest seen in the history of the top flight. This year there would be 22 races.

The top-flight owners hope they will not have to make any modifications and will take this to the World Motor Sport Council for approval. However, they also warned the 10 Formula 1 team that they will be monitoring the situation of the covid-19 pandemic, although for now, they do not have reserve competitions in case they are necessary.

In addition to the race in Saudi Arabia, Formula 1 plans to switch the Brazilian Grand Prix to the Rio de Janeiro circuit by 2021, thus ending the relationship with Sao Paulo. For now, the track does not exist since there are problems with the ecological environment that must be solved.

Along with that, the category also wants to move one of the preseason rounds to Bahrain to experiment with higher temperatures. During the tests this year the teams suffered in Barcelona due to the atypical winter that lasted longer.
