This is the third state Governor who is diagnosed with COVID-19 in Mexico

Francisco Domínguez Servién, governor of the state of Querétaro, tested positive for COVID-19.

“I inform you that this weekend I started with symptoms compatible with # COVID19, so I went to the public health medical service to do the corresponding test”, this was announced on social networks.

This result is released after Adán Augusto López, governor of Tabasco and his Hidalgo counterpart, Omar Fayad, recently confirmed the same contagion.

Despite the contagion, the governor is positive and faces the crisis. A few minutes ago, Domínguez Servién published on his official Twitter account that:

“Querétaro is ready. From the first minute of this crisis, we designed a plan for each of the stages, attached to the reality of our state. Immediately, I have instructed my team to intensify the activity and ensure social distancing, “said the state president.

The first governor to test positive for the coronavirus was Omar Fayad, president of the state of Hidalgo when on Saturday, March 28 he announced that after presenting a symptom picture similar to COVID-19, the corresponding tests were applied, which confirmed the contagion.

“Good morning, I inform you that yesterday I had the COVID test19 and they just notified me that the result is positive. From this moment I will be at home in quarantine and observation. From here we will continue working so that Tabasco can overcome this crisis. “

During the meeting, they officially declared a health emergency in all of Mexico due to the pandemic and announced that the National Sana Distancia Day will last until Thursday, April 30. Against this background, the precautionary measures against older adults and people susceptible to COVID-19 were exacerbated. The Undersecretary of Health reported that he broadened the spectrum of susceptible age, lowering the age from 65 to 60 years. They also reiterated the importance of staying at home and paying great care if they suffer from hypertension, obesity, diabetes or if someone has a compromised immune system.

Despite this news, the federal government ruled out the State of exception and/or the implementation of curfews.
