Mexico still reluctant to suspend flights from worst-hit coronavirus regions

Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Friday, March 20th, that Mexico was resisting U.S. requests to suspend flights from some of the worst-hit coronavirus regions in the world, but that talks were ongoing with the United States.

Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said the Mexican government has not determined to close access to European flights but is analyzing it.

He added that the White House expressed concern about the arrival in the United States of people sick with Coronavirus via Mexico, so there is dialogue about it.

The official explained that an eventual cancellation of flights must be prepared by the Secretaries of Health and Transport.

Donald Trump announced that Mexico will suspend flights from Europe.
